Cancellation and Refund Policy

Your right to cancel, how refunds work, and everything you need to know about ending your Fortify Protection Plan.

Last updated: May 9, 2026

Cancellation Overview

At Fortify Canada, we believe in transparent, no-nonsense cancellation policies. This page outlines your rights and our policies regarding plan cancellation, refunds, and billing adjustments. We encourage you to read this page in full before enrolling in any Fortify Protection Plan.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario) are not affected by anything on this page. Where there is any conflict between our policies and Ontario law, Ontario law takes precedence.

10 Day Cooling Off Period

Under Section 42 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario), you have an unconditional right to cancel any Fortify Protection Plan within ten (10) calendar days of enrollment and receive a full refund of all fees paid, provided no services have been rendered during that period.

To exercise your cooling off right, submit a written cancellation request by email to info@fortifycanada.com or by calling (855) 540-0007. Your cancellation takes effect on the date we receive your request.

If services were rendered during the 10 day cooling off period, Fortify may retain the fair market value of those services as permitted by applicable law. Any remaining balance will be refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days.

No cancellation fees, administrative charges, or restocking fees apply during the cooling off period.

Cancellation After Cooling Off Period

After the 10 day cooling off period, you may cancel your Protection Plan at any time by providing written notice via email to info@fortifycanada.com or by calling (855) 540-0007.

Monthly billing: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No refund is issued for partial billing periods.

Annual billing: If you cancel after the cooling off period but before the end of your annual term, no prorated refund is issued unless required by law. You retain Plan benefits until the end of your current annual term.

To cancel a Pre Authorized Debit (PAD) arrangement, you must notify both Fortify Canada AND your financial institution. Cancelling with Fortify alone does not stop debits from your bank account.

Refund Processing

All refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10 business days of cancellation approval. Credit card refunds typically appear within 3 to 5 business days; PAD refunds may take 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.

Refunds for PAD payments are processed as ACH reversals. If your bank account has been closed or the account number has changed, you must notify us in writing to arrange an alternative refund method.

If a refund cannot be processed to the original payment method due to account closure or other issues, Fortify will attempt to contact you to arrange an alternative method. If no response is received within 30 days, the refund may be held in trust.

Fortify's Right to Terminate

Fortify Canada reserves the right to terminate your Protection Plan immediately and without refund for cause, including but not limited to: nonpayment after one retry and a 15 day grace period; fraud or material misrepresentation at enrollment; abusive or threatening behaviour toward Fortify personnel; repeated failure to provide safe access to equipment; or any other material breach of the Protection Plan Agreement.

If Fortify terminates your Plan for any reason other than cause, you will receive a prorated refund of any unused prepaid amounts.

How to Cancel

You have multiple options to cancel your Protection Plan:

1. Email: Send a cancellation request to info@fortifycanada.com from the email address associated with your account. Include your full name, service address, and confirmation number.

2. Phone: Call (855) 540-0007 Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST. Have your confirmation number ready.

3. Written Mail: Send a signed written request to Fortify Home Services Inc. Include your full name, service address, confirmation number, and signature. Mail to the address provided in your welcome email or agreement.

All cancellation requests are acknowledged within 24 business hours. Your cancellation confirmation will include the effective date and any applicable refund information.

Pre Authorized Debit Cancellation

To cancel your Pre Authorized Debit (PAD) arrangement, you must take two steps:

Step 1: Notify Fortify Canada by email or phone at least 30 days before the next scheduled debit date. This allows us to update our billing records and stop future charge requests.

Step 2: Notify your bank or financial institution in writing that you are revoking authorization for debits from Fortify Home Services Inc. Your bank may have its own revocation form.

Important: Cancelling your PAD with Fortify alone does NOT automatically stop debits from your bank account. You must also notify your bank. If a debit occurs after you have cancelled with us but before your bank processes the revocation, contact us immediately and we will issue a refund within 5 business days.

You have recourse rights through your financial institution if a PAD is processed in error or without proper authorization. Contact your bank for details.

Right to Paper Copy

Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario), you have the right to request a paper copy of any contract you enter into electronically. If you would like a printed copy of your Protection Plan Agreement, email your request to info@fortifycanada.com with your confirmation number. We will mail a paper copy to your service address within 15 business days at no charge.
